ASEAN Law Observers: An Introduction

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

ASEAN Law Observers is a blog of reviewing the cases law related to ASEAN Law (including the charter and agreements) that have been invoked by the domestic courts of ASEAN Member States (AMS). The blog aims to show and analyse how the AMS national courts deal with the cases related to the ASEAN Law. By showing and examining the implementation of ASEAN Law by the domestic courts, it hopes the ASEAN integration will be getting stronger and more profound, but still never forgetting its unique mantra, the ASEAN Way.

The blog has been founded in September 2019 by Ali Salmande, a former legal journalist and the regional integration enthusiast. He got an idea to build the blog during his attendance in ASEAN Law Academy held by National University of Singapore (NUS) on August 2019. He analyses various cases on ASEAN Law in Indonesian domestic court, and warmly invite fellows from other AMS to contribute by writing ASEAN Cases Law from their local court.

If you are a fellow from the ASEAN Member States and wish to contribute, please send your article to ali.salmande@gmail.com
